The interdicted Kampala Capital City Authority Director of Physical Planning George Agaba has been granted bail. Agaba was remanded to Luzira Prison in January this year on charges of murder and attempted murder following an eviction exercise in Port Bell Luzira that turned bloody leaving John Onyango dead.
He was remanded to prison together with his body guard Santos Komakech Makmot. He applied for bail on ground of grave illness involving his spinal cord, and his constitutional rights.
Justice Faith Mwonda sitting at the Nakawa High Court Division has released him on bail ordering him to pay three million shillings cash while his sureties have been asked to sign bonds worth five million shillings not cash.
He has been asked to report to courts of the Chief Magistrates after every two weeks. Agaba was arrested and detained for a few days in January at Jinja Road Police Station after the eviction exercise that left four other people injured.
