Kabale man hacks sister-in-law to death
The suspect chopped his victim into pieces for practicing witchcraft

Kabale Police are holding a man accused of killing his sister-in-law for practicing witchcraft. The suspect is Andrew Sabiiti a resident of Kamuganguzi cell in Kacherere ward in Katuna town council.

He is wanted for killing Florence Tushemerirwe, a resident of the same village. Nelson Nshangabasheija, the Katuna Town Council LCIII chairperson, says the suspect chopped his victim into pieces around 10:00PM on Tuesday evening.

According to Nshangabasheija, Sabiiti waylaid the deceased as she was retiring from work at Katuna border.

Ely Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, says after the incident, Sabiiti went into hiding until this morning when he walked into Katuna Police station.

According to Maate, preliminary investigations show that Sabitti has been accusing the deceased of practicing witchcraft against his family.

Police has opened a murder case against the accused at Kabale Police Station under CRB 1154/2018. This is third murder case police is registering in greater Kabale in less than a week.

On May 21st, police recovered the lifeless body of Javai Ndiheihi, 55, a resident of Ibasho cell Highland ward in Muhanga town council in Rukiga district.

Ndiheihi’s body was found lying in a washing bay in Bukinda trading center in Bukinda Sub County. The deceased had deep cuts on the face.

The same day angry residents lynched Joshua Bandoonda, a resident of Bugarama cell in Bukinda Sub County at Kabimbiri trading center in Kirimbe cell in Kandago parish for alleged theft of a mobile phone.
