There was chaos in Kampala as Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine appeared at Central Police Station.
Police summoned Kyagulanyi through the speaker of Parliament to answer charges of disobedience to a statutory duty contrary to section 116 of the penal code act.
Kyagulanyi alongside some journalists and musicians last week organized a demonstration in Kampala against the social media and mobile money tax.
Some opposition Members of Parliament led by the leader of Opposition Winifred Kiiza, Kilak MP Gilbert Olanya and Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zzake, Mbwatekamwa Gaffa, DP lady escorted Kyagulanyi from Parliament building to CPS accompanied by boda boda cyclists.
When they reached CPS, chaos erupted as police blocked the MPs and journalists from entering the police station.
However, after scuffles, police later allowed the MPs in but blocked the journalists. Some journalists who had entered in the precincts of CPS were dragged out drawing a fight between the police and journalists.
Police arrested six unidentified boda boda cyclists and confiscated three boda boda motorcycles.
Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, says that the six had been arrested for blocking traffic law.
“The traffic Police is handling their issue, so they will either be taken to the courts of law or issued tickets for specific traffic offences.
Kyagulanyi was still being interrogated by the time of filing this report.
