The Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has arrived at his home in Magere in Wakiso District. In his statement issued in Thursday afternoon, Police Spokesperson Emillian Kayima, said police had provided Kyagulanyi with “transport, escort and a lead car to his home in Magere.”
Government spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo also issued a public notice, confirming Bobi Wine had safely arrived home. “We want to thank Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi for easily cooperating with law enforcement officers at Entebbe airport, who provided him with a chauffeur driven car, escorts and traffic clearance to Magere.”
Adding that, “For avoidance of any doubt Hon. Kyagulanyi did not attempt to resist police request to escort him home.” Bobi Wine was driven to his home minutes after jetting in at Entebbe International Airport this afternoon aboard a Kenya Airways (KQ) flight following his return from the US. The Kenya Airways flight touched the ground at Entebbe Airport at exactly 12:58pm.
A group of police officers welcomed Bobi Wine and whisked him off to awaiting police van. They left the airport and drove through Entebbe Express Highway to Busega roundabout where they joined the Northern Bypass to Kalerwe and connected to Kampala-Gayaza Road.
A reliable police source told this publication that police planned the route well in advance. The Kampala Metropolitan Commander, Moses Kafeero pitched Camp in Kalerwe to ensure everything goes according to plan.
Police sealed off Kampala-Entebbe Express Highway early morning to block traffic from using it.
