Bobi Wine asks President Museveni to respect gov't institutions
MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine said that the President Museveni's lack of respect for established institutions has caused system failures leading to persecution of residents

Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulayi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has asked President Museveni to allow government institutions to work independently.

Kyagulanyi made the remarks while addressing over 300 residents of Lusanja village, Kasangati Town Council in Wakiso District who were recently evicted by a city businessman, Medard Kiconco.

Kyagulanyi’s visit comes barely days after the President visited the evicted residents.

He wondered why the President moves from area to area consoling the victims and yet there are institutions in place.

He says that the President’s lack of respect for established institutions has caused system failures leading to persecution of residents.

However, Kyagulanyi says that mass land evictions in different parts of the country are done with impunity by people who draw powers directly from the President.

Moments before Kyagulanyi’s arrival, drama ensued as the newly appointed Kasangati Division Police Commander Magyezi Jaffar directed the village chairperson, Fred Kanyike, to mobilize residents to boycott the MP’s rally.

Although Kanyike tried to convince the affected residents, some of them told him to back off saying they cannot chase anybody who brings them aid.

Hajat Mayi Nabukenya noted that Bobi Wine is their area MP who can voice out their plight.
