Lira Police are holding a woman accused of burning her daughter’s genitals. The suspect is 32-year-old Jackline Aloyoa resident of Aloc A village, Odoro Parish in Aromo Sub County.
She is alleged to have burnt the 4-year-old girl last week for alleged indiscipline. Aloyo, who is in custody at Lira Central Police Station is said to have lit firewood and used it to burn the minor’s genital.
David Ongom Mudong, North Kyoga Region Police spokesperson, says the suspect is being held for torture and assault vide police file CRB 44/2018. He says the suspect was first locked up at Aromo Police Outpost before she was transferred to Lira CPS.
Ongom says they have submitted the suspect’s file to the Resident State Attorney for perusal and sanctioning.
David Elic, the Aromo Sub County LC III chairperson wants the suspect to be prosecuted immediately, saying her action is a total violation of the child’s right.
“This woman found her son she fathered with another man playing with her daughter. She took her and lit firewood with burning fire and deeped it in the genitals of the girl,” Elic narrated in his statement.
The suspect’s husband, Alex Okello, says the minor is receiving treatment at Aromo Health Centre III. Okello described his wife as a violent woman.
