Security authorities in the Albertine Region have raised a red flag over the escalation of murder and robbery cases in the region. Statistics from the region show that five murder cases have been registered since this month began.

The cases occurred in Kibaale, Kakumiro, Kagadi and Buliisa districts. The same statistics show that four robbery cases have been recorded in Hoima and Kikuube districts with in a space of two weeks.

He says millions were lost in the four robberies, which targeted motorcycles. Hakiza says to restore sanity; police has embarked on a massive community policing campaign to reduce death related to domestic violence and land wrangles.

He says they have also intensified night patrols in all districts in the region to deal with the robbers, adding that no one will be allowed to move at night without valid identification.
