Police in Luweero is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a yet to be known man, whose headless body was found in a coffee plantation Monday morning.
The body, of a person expected to be in his 20’s, was discovered by Mayimuna Namuli, a resident of Kalongomiti zone in Luweero town, who was passing by the plantation belonging to one Enock Mubiru.
The body was found naked in a deep pool of blood, according to Namuli, who says that she was reluctant to alert the police for fear of being arrested. However, she, however, shared what she had seen with a friend who later notified the police at around 11 am.
Police officers commanded by Savannah Regional Police Commander Edward Kyaligonza later arrived at the scene with sniffer dogs that tried to track the killers with no success.
“We are investigating the incident and call upon the public to report any missing person so that we can allow them to view the body which is currently at Kasana Health Centre IV Mortuary for postmortem. We have not apprehended any suspects but ask the public to volunteer any relevant information regarding the case,” Kyaligonza said.
Amos Wasswa the LCI Chairman of Kalongomiti zone explains that they have not recorded any case of a missing person in the area. He suspects that the deceased was killed from elsewhere and later dumped in the zone.
This is the third person to be killed in the area since the beginning of the year. Others are Muhamadi Komakech a security guard at Ssaku S.S in Katikamu Sub County and another unidentified man found in Luweero town.
