Man stabs ex-lover for allegedly cheating on him

Kasese police have picked up two suspects in connection to the murder of a woman in Ibanda-Kyanya Town Council. Aminah Mbambu’s lifeless body was found lying in a water canal at Tronder Hydro Power Plant in Ihani Village in Ibanda-Kyanya Town Council on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old mother is believed to have been killed on Monday night before her body was dumped in River Isya hence ending up in the canal. Vincent Twesige, the Rwenzori East Region Police Spokesperson told this publication on Wednesday afternoon that two suspects are in police custody in connection to the murder.

He identifies the suspects as Moris Muduha, the deceased’s former lover and his associate, Mutoha Sambadilu. Twesige says Muduha was picked up on Tuesday evening after blood stained clothes were recovered from his house during a search. He says Madilu was picked up to aid police investigation since he is a close-ally to Muduha.

Police is hunting for the third suspect, Jaffar Mwaka who is said to be at large. Twesige says Mwaka will be brought to book sooner or later as investigations into the matter are ongoing. He says preliminary investigations indicate that there was a dispute between the deceased and her ex-boyfriend Muduha and her current boyfriend, Mwaka.

Muduha blames the deceased’s death on Mwaka who reportedly got angry when he found at his place. Muduha alleges that Mwaka accused the deceased of cheating on him. He reportedly grabbed a knife and started stabbing her until her last breath. Twesige appeals to people in Kasese to learn to solve family disputes amicably.

Twesige says the suspects will be taken to court as soon as investigations are complete.
