Job Title: Data Analyst – Mobile Apps

And we think we have a shot to build a very valuable tech company in the process. SafeBoda is growing fast with our mobile app in terms of completed rides in Kampala, Uganda. We are venture backed with investors from Silicon Valley, UK, Africa and Asia and we have high ambitions to scale our solution rapidly across East and West Africa.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Become a domain expert in your product areas and conduct rigorous data analysis to help improve customer experiences and identify profitable growth opportunities
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, and marketing teams to build world-class products and design hypothesis-driven experiments; make clear, coherent and holistic recommendations based on test results
- Improve product experiences for all our customers using data science techniques
- Identify product metrics and monitor product performance through dashboards and ad hoc analysis
- Present findings and recommendations to business and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the SafeBoda Data Analyst – Mobile Apps job must hold a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics or Economics
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Data-driven mindset
- Solid in SQL and Excel; experience with visualization tools such as Metabase, and/or app analytics tools (e.g., Firebase) preferred
- Experience/knowledge of employing statistical, data mining and machine learning algorithms (e.g. regression and clustering) on real-world problems is a plus
- Familiarity with the principles of multivariate testing, experiment design, and the standard methods for analyzing data collected from controlled and quasi-experiments
- Excellent communication skills working with a diverse range of people – you can spar with engineers, product owners and other stakeholders
- An attitude of accountability and knowledge-sharing—you enjoy helping others and sharing your knowledge
- Strong ability to multitask and effectively prioritize, being able to make decisions with minimum guidance is key
- Good time-management skills
