Pader, Uganda | URN | Former deputy Inspector General of Police, Lt. Gen Paul Lokech has been laid to rest in Pader district, northern Uganda.
Lokech was lowered into the grave at about 5 pm on Friday 27th, August 2021 at his ancestral home in Paipir village amidst an overwhelming emotion from his family members, relatives, and friends.
The army accorded Lokech a 15-gun salute that roared through the airspaces of Paipir village for about three minutes.
Lokech died on August 21 from his home in Kitikifumba zone, Wakiso district due to a blood clot in his lungs, according to a postmortem report released by the police.
He has been posthumously promoted by President Yoweri Museveni to the rank of Lieutenant General in a speech delivered by Internal Affairs Minister Kahinda Otafire on Friday 27th.

Hundreds of people from different walks of life attended the sendoff off from Paipir primary school.
Several speakers who attended the funeral service presided over by the speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah praised Lokech’s bravery that earned him numerous victories in battles that brought peace in Uganda and Africa and earned him many friends.
