Adjumani, Uganda | URN | Three men in Adjumani district in Northern Uganda are in police custody for allegedly raping a 40-year-old woman and leaving her unconscious on Independence Day anniversary night (October 9, 2021).
Alex Vuga Chandiga, the LC I chairperson of Rassia East village identifies the suspects as William Anyanzo Itraru, Godfrey Alumai commonly known as Gogoo and another only identified as Oliki.
He says that the suspects were drinking with the victim on Independence Day and later followed her home. Chandiga claims that the suspects first demanded money from their victim in vain, prompting them to beat her and rape her.
He says that the suspect was found lying unconscious at her home in the morning with a lot of blood on her body. According to Chandiga, he tried to ask the woman what had happened, but she could not respond.

He says that the LC 3 chairperson of Pachara sub-county, Kennedy Kanzo immediately called the police to take her for treatment.
He says that Oliki was arrested on Sunday 10th, October 2021 and he confessed to having raped the 40-year-old woman together with his accomplices, leading to their arrest on Monday 11th night.
The 40-year-old woman (rape victim) was responding to treatment by the time of filing this story.
