Amolatar, Uganda | By Michael Wandati | In Amolatar, police have apprehended Milly Acen for allegedly beheading her husband, Denis Obua, with a panga during a Christmas meat disagreement.
Acen, a resident of Abutataro village, Alemere parish in Agwingiri Sub-County, was reportedly upset that her husband had bought meat for another woman but neglected to buy a share for their official family, leading to a physical altercation.
The incident only came to the attention of the police after a photo of Obua’s cut head circulated on social media, prompting the local LCI to report the matter.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and stated that Acen is under investigation.

A panga, believed to be the weapon used, was recovered at the crime scene, presented as evidence, while the victim received treatment at Amai Community Hospital.
While cautioning against resorting to violence, Okema highlighted a relatively smooth Christmas celebration in the region, with only a few isolated incidents, including a fire outbreak at Ngetta Mission resulting in a loss of Shillings five million, two road crashes causing four fatalities, and a murder.
