Kampala, Uganda | By Michael Wandati | In a shocking turn of events at Mosque Zone, Kibuli Parish, Makindye Division, Kampala District, the lives of Senkungu Arnold a 24-year-old barber, and Atwine Shina, a 21-year-old student, were tragically cut short on the morning of December 27, 2023.
The incident unfolded at Senkungu Arnold’s residence in Kabalagala, where a neighbor, Sserunjoji Frank, discovered the couple in a distressing state.
Upon noticing fresh blood and locked doors, concerned neighbors took immediate action, forcibly entering the premises.
Inside, they found Senkungu Arnold alive but succumbing to injuries at Kibuli Hospital. Tragically, Atwine Shina was found lifeless, with a deep neck wound.
A quick response from the police, with assistance from the Homicide Unit, uncovered a scene of struggle. A new knife, stained with fresh blood, and witness statements have become crucial elements in the ongoing investigation.
Senkungu Arnold had sustained multiple injuries, and early indications suggest that the couple may have exhibited signs of a troubled marriage.
Atwine Shina had reportedly confided in a friend about mistreatment, and the discovery of a new knife possibly points to premeditation.
The motive behind the murder is still under police investigation, and further details will be disclosed as the inquiry progresses.

The bodies of Senkungu Arnold and Atwine Shina are currently at City Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination. The police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the pursuit of justice.
The Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, emphasized the importance of community cooperation in resolving this tragic case.
