Pope Francis grants Speaker Among private audience in Rome
Uganda's Speaker Anita Among (R) is set to visit Pope Francis at the Vatican City on August 24, 2024, marking her third private audience with the Pope.

Rome, Italy | By Michael Wandati | The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has again granted Papal Audience to Uganda’s Speaker of Parliament Anita Among in Rome, Italy.

This was confirmed by the Head of Ugandan mission in Rome, Italy, Ambassador Stephen Mubiru Head of in a letter to the Clerk of Parliament, copied to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs dated May 27, 2024.

As per the letter, Speaker Anita Among’s visit to Rome, Italy is scheduled for August 24, 2024.

Ms. Among has been requested to provide her personal details before July 15th, along with the address in Rome, Italy where she will be staying.

Additionally, she is asked to submit a list of no more than three accompanying delegation members and their equipment to facilitate media accreditation for the Papal Audience.

“His Holiness Pope Francis has granted us private audience and they are expecting me and not more than three delegation,” Speaker Among said.

As per the Vatican Protocol, upon her arrival, the Speaker will be received by His Eminence Pietro Cardinal Parolin, the Secretary of State to His Holiness.

The Speaker Anita Among made the Papal Audience request on March 5th, 2024.
