Entebbe, Uganda | By Michael Wandati | Ugandan radio host and DJ Suuna Ben is taking a firm stance in a heated dispute with his ex-partner, Mary Nambwayo, regarding the ownership of a house and land in Garuga, Entebbe.
The couple, who share a child, have been at the center of media attention for the past week due to this conflict over a partially constructed two-story mansion.
Recently, Nambwayo packed her belongings and moved to the construction site, determined not to leave. She has been residing in the unfinished house, which currently lacks doors and windows.
Nambwayo, a former colleague of Suuna’s at Bukedde Radio, has accused him of attempting to give the house to another woman. She asserts that she made significant contributions towards the purchase of the land and the construction of the home.
Her suspicions were further fueled by rumors that Suuna was planning an introduction ceremony with another woman.
The situation escalated into a physical altercation when Suuna’s security personnel attempted to remove her from the premises.
DJ Suuna Ben speaks out
After facing criticism in the media for allegedly betraying his partner, DJ Suuna Ben has publicly addressed the ongoing dispute with Mary Nambwayo, accusing her and her family of plotting to take his property.
Despite Nambwayo’s assertion that she played a crucial role in identifying the land and persuading the owner to sell it to them, Suuna countered in a live stream, claiming he is the sole owner of the plot.

Dj Suuna Ben disclosed that he paid Shs 40 million for the land and an additional Shs 3 million for the land title processing. Suuna explained that the title processing was entrusted to Hajj Kamoga, Nambwayo’s uncle.
However, Hajj Kamoga allegedly held onto the title until Suuna began constructing the house. To his surprise, when the title was finally issued, it bore both his name and Nambwayo’s.
“For two years, I pressed Kamoga to give my title but he kept tossing me around. All along they were calculating how to steal my house,” Suuna Ben said.
“I have now rejected the title, but I bought that land myself. I worked hard for every penny I spent on that land,” he added.
Mary Nambwayo remains resolute, declaring that she will not vacate the house, even as DJ Suuna Ben continues with his plans to marry another woman.
