Despite security cameras on the highway, there has been no identification of the vehicle or driver involved, raising concerns among Karamoja leaders about the delay in the investigation.

During the burial ceremony on Tuesday, Mukula announced the reward and urged the public to come forward with information that could lead to the driver’s capture. He also revealed that a dedicated team has been formed to track down the driver.

John Paul Kodet, the LCV Chairperson of Napak District, called for thorough forensic investigations to ensure justice for the people of Karamoja. Meanwhile, Peterken Lochap, MP for Bokora East, emphasized the need for the driver to be held accountable for his reckless actions, pledging that leaders will pursue the case until its resolution.

Simon Peter Aleper was interred at his family home in Loputuk Cell A, Kangole Town Council, Napak District.
