Kampala, Uganda | By Michael Wandati | The Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) has strongly condemned the arrest and prosecution of anti-corruption protesters, urging for their immediate release.

Ms. Mariam Wangadya, the Chairperson of the Commission, expressed concern over the detention of three young women who were peacefully marching to Parliament with placards, calling for Speaker Anita Among’s resignation due to alleged corruption.

Wangadya emphasized that these women were merely exercising their right to voice their concerns to their elected officials.
