Kakamega man kills his 49-year-old father after altercation over missing pig

Kakamega, Kenya | By Michael Wandati | A 25-year-old man has hacked his father to death following a heated argument over a missing pig in Shilalyo village, Shinyalu, Kakamega County.

The altercation began late Sunday night between the man and his grandfather after he returned home to discover the pig missing.

As tensions escalated, the man’s 49-year-old father, a father of ten, intervened in an attempt to calm the situation.

However, his son turned violent, striking him on the head before fleeing the scene.

Police are currently searching for the 25-year-old suspect, while the deceased’s body has been transported to Kakamega Referral Hospital for post-mortem examination.
